DAMJAN KOVACEVIC

Damjan Kovačević, born in 1983 in Bihać, Bosnia and Herzegovina, is an artist who lives and works in Belgrade. He graduated in painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade. He has received several prestigious awards, including the first prize from the Nis Art Foundation (2015), the first prize at the 48th Winter Salon in Herceg Novi (2015), the first prize for drawing from the Vladimir Veličković Foundation (2010), an award scholarship from the Kulturraum Düsseldorf Foundation (2009), as well as the Award for Exceptional Creative Innovation from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade (2008). His works are part of the collections of the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Museum of the City of Belgrade, as well as numerous private collections both in Serbia and abroad. Damjan Kovačević has participated in several international residency programs, including Cité internationale des Arts in Paris, Kulturraum Düsseldorf in Germany, Glo’Art in Belgium, and Brinovka in Slovenia. He exhibits his works both solo and in group shows, in Serbia and internationally.
