VUK DABETIC
About the artist
Vuk Dabetić (born in Belgrade) is a distinguished Serbian painter, fresco artist, and restorer, recognized for his deep commitment to ecclesiastical art and contemporary monumental painting. He graduated from the Academy of the Serbian Orthodox Church for Arts and Conservation, specializing in fresco painting and wall restoration, and later completed his master's studies in wall painting and mosaics. Dabetić’s artistic development was significantly influenced by his work with the renowned academician Mladen Srbinović on monumental mosaics, which helped shape his mastery of scale and form. Beyond his extensive work in over twenty churches and monasteries, Dabetić is also an accomplished easel painter whose secular opus includes landscapes and still lifes. These works serve as intimate artistic records of his surroundings and travel, often blending lyrical nature scenes with profound theological reflections. Through his participation in numerous solo exhibitions and art colonies, he has established himself as a versatile modern master who successfully bridges the gap between traditional Byzantine-inspired fresco painting and contemporary artistic expression.
